It definitely wasn’t a case of pathetic fallacy on the 24th September when our troops headed off to Kildare to ‘run-a-muck’, not even the rain could dampen our spirits. Kitted out and ready to go we all set off. We had prepared for this to be competitive and there had been jeering and egging on in the weeks leading up to it about who was going to win. However after obstacle one, this took a turn none of us were prepared for.
We pulled together to get each other through the course, over hay bales, under netting and through bogs and lakes, eventually crossing the finishing line together as a team. It brought out the best (and competitive) sides in everyone. We saw who the real motivators, leaders and absolute messers are! What started out as a bit of fun turned into a great bonding experience for all levels in the organisation. We’re already planning the next one!
